My name is Jori Kyle Kirk. I am a small business owner who can be found flying through the trees or bombing down the slopes depending on the season. Four dogs. One fun life.
I was born and raised in Climax, Saskatchewan. It’s a very, VERY small town but a wonderful place to grow up. I am sure I will delve into some stories of my youth at some point but for now, I will just leave you with this little tidbit of information: my grade five class had a total of five students, including myself.
My education and the majority of my work experience lies in the tourism industry. I received my Bachelors of Commerce in Marketing and Tourism from the University of Calgary in 2008. Shortly after that, I started my own business, Treeosix Adventure Parks. The company itself is an experiential-based adventure business that operates zip line tours at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and at Elk Ridge Resort in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. It’s a weird fit for Saskatchewan but it has been a tonne of fun to build, create, and grow.
Since Treeosix is very seasonal (operates May through September each year), in the winter months, I live in Kimberley, BC with my fiancee and our four Norwegian Elkhounds. To keep busy, I help out at the ski hill as a jack-of-all-trades (master of none). This is my second winter in that part of the world and it’s the perfect gear change from my busy summer months!
Lastly, as you can imagine based on my career choice, I am passionate with regards to topics of marketing, tourism, and entrepreneurship. Over the years, I have had numerous opportunities to share my experiences and learnings by delivering keynote presentations and workshops for a wide range of business/tourism conferences worldwide.
However, this blog is just for me to help gather my thoughts and have some fun. Nothing more. Nothing less. Enjoy!
